On July 18, Martin Kocher, Federal Minister of Labor and Economic Affairs, visited the hydrogen storage facility in Rubensdorf. The three mayors of the surrounding municipalities were also present: Jürgen Lachinger (Mayor of Gampern), Gerald Egger (Mayor of Seewalchen) and Ernst Pachler (Mayor of Berg im Attergau).
CEO Markus Mitteregger gave an insight into the relevance of seasonal hydrogen storage in underground sandstone pore reservoirs. It is essential for the location and the economy in Upper Austria to implement the start-infrastructure quickly in order to make a contribution to security of supply and emission reduction with this innovative technology.
We are pleased about the great interest shown by politicians at federal and municipal level in seasonal energy storage and RAG's innovative hydrogen projects and would like to thank them for the good exchange.
