With the delivery and commissioning of the last missing above-ground unit, the gas separation unit from Axiom GmbH, the “Underground Sun Storage” facility is now complete. This unit is used to separate hydrogen and natural gas. Following the first injection of hydrogen in recent months, the first withdrawal phase of the project has now started.
Further injection and withdrawal cycles will now follow in order to simulate commercial injection and withdrawal and gain valuable insights for scaling up the project.
