WP 6 is dealing with the injection of the hydrogen into an existing natural gas pipeline after the production, storage and purification process.
This needs the identification of a suitable access point to the grid, where it is possible that the mixture of hydrogen and natural gas is injected during the complete winter period. At this injection point the flow and the quality of the gas mixture is determined.
Further, the flow of the hydrogen within the distribution grid is analysed in order to thoroughly have information about the concentration at any given point within the network. This calculation is examined at specified grid knots by suitable measuring devices. So legal-for-trade issues of supplying gas to customers are obeyed.
This work package will gain valuable knowledge regarding network simulation and specific requirements on measurement components, thus being a useful base for future operation with hydrogen in grids.
